The school was founded on 21 Feb, 1995 by Mr. P.K. Bansal and his wife Mrs. Shama Rani Bansal.

Mr. P.K. Bansal was a well known educationist. He started his career as a lecturer in Sohan Lal Education College and DAV College, Ambala City. He was the founder Principal of DAV College, Naneola, Pehowa, Faridabad and Ex. Principal of DAV College (Lahore), Ambala City. He was the author of a number of books in Mathematics.                                                                               

 Dr. Narender Kumar Bansal eminent doctor, a well known social worker of Shahabad Markanda

and son of Shri P.K. Bansal was associated with him from the inception of the school. He was committed to high standards of teaching and learning. His positive, proactive and caring approach took the school to new heights. As chairman he played a vital role in the form of guide and mentor for the overall progress of the school.

Dr. Sudha Bansal, Present Chairperson of the school and wife of late Dr. N.K. Bansal, is a doctor by profession and has been successfully running Bansal Nursing Home at Shahabad Markanda for more than 50 years. She is dedicated to her profession and society welfare. She firmly believes in girl education and girl empowerment. She takes keen interest in upliftment of children. She is an embodiment of affection, kindness and sincerity.

The Present Vice Chairman of SRDPS, Dr. V.K. Bansal is a very respectable personality. Along with being the founder of Bansal Eye Hospital, he is an enthusiast of education. He has been honoured with lifetime achievement award by Sh. Anil Vij, The Health Minister of Haryana for his contribution in providing medical and surgical services in field of ophthalmology.

The legacy of the family is continued by Mr. Rajat Bansal. He empowered the students

and teachers with technology to meet the challenges of the 21st century. He is a great

visionary with a clear sense of ability to formulate and shape the future of students.
